Having been pro-actively involved with Accountancy Recruitment over two decades, Morgan West fully appreciates the importance of the relationship between "you", the candidate, and "us", the consultants. As professionals in the industry, we endeavour to act in your best interests at all times. In addition, we are justifiably proud of our reputation for "Best Practice" within the industry and from the overwhelming positive feedback from our clients.
The following guidelines will ensure the most proactive and ultimately rewarding relationship between us:
We will do everything possible to ensure our dealings with you are both honest and professional.
Please give us all the information we need to conduct a successful search for you. Be honest about your background and experience. Be flexible and open. Listen to advice from your consultant: Remember that you have the expertise in your job and your consultant is an expert in theirs. Be realistic about your career aims and aspirations and be open to suggestions. Don't be afraid to explore different options...this approach will often pay dividends and invariably will lead to your ideal job.
We try not to waste time so let us know the opportunities you may have explored and discounted in the last few months (Having contacts in most organisations, we do not want to waste time going over old ground!)
We will treat you as an individual and listen to your needs. When one of our consultants highlights a new opportunity for you, please treat the information in the strictest confidence and do not divulge the information to any third parties. This will ensure we maximise your chances of getting that dream job and limit the competition which you may otherwise encounter.
In an ideal world, a good professional consultant would like to work with you on a one to one basis and be able to do a thorough search of the market place on your behalf. At Morgan West, we try to be as realistic as possible and appreciate that this may not always be in the best interests of either "you" or "us". If we have immediate opportunities or clients who we know will have a great interest in your background or experience, we will tell you immediately, and will often suggest a timescale when we can work with you on an "exclusive" basis.
If you feel that it is in your best interests to broaden your search, our advice is to be very selective and limit your instructions to either two or a maximum of three consultancies. Ensure that you are in control at all times. This, potentially, will give you more exposure in the market place and help you get that dream job.
Although ultimately any decision is, of course, yours, do listen to the advice given by your Morgan West Consultant. We are experts in the sector, understand prevailing market conditions and will try to help in any way we can. This doesn't mean we will always agree with you, but ultimately we have your best interests at heart and in life, two heads are often better than one! Keep an open mind, listen and communicate and remember we are here to help.
Please keep in regular contact with your consultant, whether it is advice, a "sounding board" or a general update. If, for any reason, your situation changes and you are no longer searching for a new opportunity, we would appreciate you letting us know as soon as possible. Search criteria often change over time so let your consultant know of any changes which need to be actioned (location, salary expectations, type of role etc). Morgan West Consultants use core business hours (10am-12 noon and 2-4 pm) in order to have as much contact as possible with clients, but are generally available at all other times.
Any information you give us which makes the search more specific will help your consultant source opportunities will lead to that ideal role.
